1 - Where does Jaymar manufacture?

Jaymar upholstery is manufactured in an ultra-modern 150,000 square foot factory in Terrebonne, a suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2 - Does Jaymar make all the components of its furniture?

While the raw materials (foam, lumber, leather, springs, etc.) are purchased worldwide, each product is cut, shaped and assembled into every unique design, in our Canadian facilities.

3 - What style of furniture does Jaymar manufacture?

Jaymar creates and produces a wide range of upholstered products according to market trend. All styles are offered: from Contemporary to Modern European, to timeless transitional or more classic and traditional.

4 - Does Jaymar manufacture bedroom or dining room furniture?

We make upholstered beds and sofa beds but no dining room furniture. To find these products, visit the internet sites of Canadian manufactures members of the Bermex Group: www.bermex.ca, www.bertanie.com, www.dinec.com and www.mi-di.ca.

5 - May I purchase directly from Jaymar?

No, as we sell solely to our authorized dealers only.

6 - Where can I find Jaymar furniture in my region?

You can find your local dealer via our "Find a dealer" search engine at the top of each web page www.jaymar.ca.

7 - Where can I see the entire Jaymar catalog?

As our product range is constantly evolving, we do not have a printed catalog. However, you can visit our website or your retailer to see more models and offered configurations. You can also see a wide selection at our showroom, directly to the factory

8 - Can I visit the Jaymar showroom in North Carolina?

The North Carolina showroom is open to the trade only during the twice-yearly industry markets.

9 - Where do Jaymar leathers come from?

The majority of our leathers are imported from Italy.

10 - How does Jaymar choose its leathers?

We work closely with our tanneries and technicians around the world to create some of the finest values in leather. We judge not only the quality of the hides, but the visual effects, both hand and machine made. In addition to the “hand”, Jaymar looks to combine visual beauty with suppleness and finishing techniques that ensure durability and longevity.

11 - What colours are available?

While the range of colours is vast, Jaymar chooses (and creates) a wide variety of “fashion current” colours. We also select a colour range that is appropriate to the texture and effect of the intended pattern.

12 - Is Jaymar leather furniture entirely made with top grain leather, meaning it does not contain any synthetic leather?

Yes, Jaymar furniture is entirely made with top grain leather. Therefore, no split leathers or combined polyurethane will be found.

13 - What is Jaymar's best leather?

This is a subjective question. Choosing the best leather is an individual decision. All top grain leathers will provide many years of usage.

14 - How do I care for my leather furniture?

The leather must be cleaned regularly with a clean lightly humid cloth in order to preserve its appearance and texture as well as prevent all damage due to dust accumulation. Failure to clean the leather may cause premature wear.

15 - How do I know what leather is right for me?

Once you have chosen the design you like (which might dictate certain leather options), you should then assess your lifestyle (including pets) in order to determine the wear and tear your choice will endure. Your dealer/sales associate will then be able to advise you as to the appropriate options available.

16 - Why are there colour and texture differences in my leather sofa?

Nature places its signature on all leather hides. Full grain leathers especially exhibit climate variations, grazing habits and feeding differences. These variations of texture and dye colour can be evident on a single hide as well as on multiple hides. This is quite normal and very much a part of the beauty of natural leather.

17 - Is Jaymar furniture available in fabric?

Most of our models are available in a broad assortment of cloth fabrics as well as a wide variety of micro-fibres (NuSuede, UltraSuede and others). Many styles can also be upholstered in combinations of fabrics, micro-fabrics and leathers. An authorized Jaymar dealer can explain the possibilities (note: not all dealers choose to offer fabric/micro-fibre options).

18 - Can I supply my own fabric or leather?

Jaymar will accept C.O.M. (customer's own fabric) and C.O.L. (customer's own leather). There are however, certain guidelines that must be followed:

  • All paperwork and transportation costs must be anticipated and prepaid (including country of origin duties, brokerage fees, etc.)
  • Jaymar accepts only 54 in. wide non-matching (plain or all over non-directional) fabrics. We do not match stripes, plaids, etc.
  • C.O.L. (customer's own leather) requirements can vary dramatically depending on hide size, finish, yield, etc. Jaymar cannot be responsible for any variations or irregularities in supplied leathers.

19 - Can Jaymar products fit my unusually shaped room?

Consult your local Jaymar dealer, as a wide variety of our designs have multiple size and shape options. This flexibility allows these styles (mainly sectionals) to fit into even the most unusually shaped rooms.

20 - What can be done if I have an extremely tight space for delivery?

Once again it's advisable to consult your Jaymar dealer. Many of our designs are available in sectional SKUs (different sized pieces) that can be delivered in tight spaces. More significantly, a variety of styles have arms that can be removed (and replaced) without any damage to the item. In addition, most of Jaymar's motion and T-Max home theatre seating styles have backs that are removable for delivery

21 - What is Jaymar's warranty?

Our warranty is explained in detail in the Maintenance and Guaranty section.

22 - I bought my Jaymar furniture several years ago. Is it possible to add a new product of furniture with the same covering?

It is possible if the style and covering are still available. In order to ensure the correct covering, you will find under your furniture a sample of the covering which will permit us to identify the exact colour. Note, that with time, the initial covering may have lost its colour. A perfect match is therefore difficult to accomplish.

23 - Is it normal that the cushions of my new leather furniture be wrinkled several weeks after being purchased?

Yes, it's normal since the cushions of your furniture are soft and not all leathers stretch the same way. Simply pat your leather seat cushions back into shape. If your cushions are removable, alternating their positions is an excellent avenue to take.

24 - I've just purchased my furniture and I find that it is firmer than the one I tried in the store; is it normal?

The floor sample has been displayed for quite some time and has been used by a good number of people. It is normal that your new furniture be firmer for the first couple of weeks. With time, your furniture will soften and offer you comfort for years to come.

25 - I've just purchased my furniture and noticed a defect; what should I do?

You may rest assured that Jaymar will do everything possible to help you. First, contact your store retailer and they will undertake the procedures on your behalf so that your guarantee is honoured.

26 - I've just received my new Jaymar furniture and the padding is misplaced / creased; is this normal?

Your furniture has been carefully packed in order to avoid all damage during transportation. However, they may have irregular creases or wrinkles which will gradually disappear with use. You may lightly pat with your hands your seat and back cushions into their initial shape.
